BTS Take the ARIRANG Tour Through South America
The group’s first tour since finishing military service rolls into Santiago, with Jimin and V drawing the loudest reactions.

Santiago — BTS carried their ARIRANG World Tour into South America this month, and the fan reaction — loud, nonstop, extremely online — made clear how much the group’s return still means.
The ARIRANG World Tour is the band’s first since all seven members completed South Korea’s mandatory military service, and it is a big one: officially announced in January 2026, it opened in Goyang in April and is built as an all-stadium run spanning dozens of cities across Asia, North America, Europe, Latin America and Oceania. The Santiago shows at the Estadio Nacional were part of the Latin American leg.
A comeback with stakes
For a group that paused at the peak of its fame to serve, the tour functions as both reunion and proof of life. Stadium dates on multiple continents are not a victory lap so much as a reassertion — a reminder that the audience that made BTS the biggest act in the world did not go anywhere during the hiatus.
The hiatus was never a question of whether the fans would wait. The tour is the answer to how loudly.
The fancam economy
Most of what circulated from the South American shows came from fans: close-up “fancams” of individual members, Jimin and V especially, clipped and shared within minutes. It is worth being clear-eyed about that. Fancams are a genuine expression of fandom, but they are also unverified, context-free fragments — great for feeling the energy of a night, less reliable as a record of what actually happened on stage.
What is on the record is the shape of the tour itself: a confirmed, globe-spanning stadium run, documented by reputable music press and official ticketing. The visuals are the fandom’s. The comeback is the fact.
